ABouT TAMARA (AKA “The Jungle Girl”)

Born in Vermont, raised in rural Quebec, and intermittently home-schooled in Latin America, family adventures on a shoestring included bike-packing the USA’s Continental Divide, kayaking the length of the Sea of Cortez, and mountaineering Mexican volcanos. This unconventional, minimalist, and free-spirited lifestyle sparked Tamara’s Wildpreneur vision. Upon the completion of her BA in Environmental Economics at Middlebury College (VT) in February 2007, she skied down the Snow Bowl in cap and gown with a freshly composed business plan in one hand and a Wall Street job opportunity in the other. Inspiration allured Tamara away from the concrete jungle towards the real jungle on the Mexican Pacific, where she rolled up her sleeves alongside her family to create her wild business; the Tailwind Jungle Lodge, a tree-house style ecolodge and retreat center.

Nearly 15 years later, Tamara continues to live, love, work, write and play in diverse natural paradises, while empowering Wildpreneurs globally to chase their dreams. Tamara’s new book, Wildpreneurs, was published by HarperCollins Leadership in February 2020.
