Empowering Students & Graduates of All Demographics
/It's an unusual time for students and graduates globally. Students of all demographics have been through months of home-schooling, online classes and now virtual graduations. SO much challenge and uncertainty for youth, BUT it's also an exciting time to be a student or graduate. We believe that BLM and in the incredible power of all students (any color, age, origin or background, may we all be equals!). Students have an opportunity to re-imagine the future, to learn from the economic and social collapses of spring 2020, to adapt and become stronger (and healthier!).
Wildpreneurs is the book I wish I could have read when I was a student (both high-school and college age). Wildpreneurs is here to support students and graduates with unleashing their daydreams, exploring possibilities and empowering them to design their lives—personally and professionally.
Don't worry students...this isn't another boring text book (I read enough of those in school myself!). I’ve found that I retain information best through stories. Doesn't it feel great to be entertained by an adventure story while simultaneously learning something that can be applied to your life right away? That's how I wrote Wildpreneurs. It's a fusion - part adventure, part inspirational guidebook - and resource for your journey.
This week I checked in with students of all ages who are reading Wildpreneurs. I was eager to hear their thoughts as they turn the pages.
San Pancho local and middle school graduate Ayla Reguero Koch traded her skateboard for hiking shoes and joined me for wander in the jungle. Ayala was born and raised in Mexico (her mother is American, her father is Mexican). She is perfectly bilingual and a brilliant student! Tune into our jungle hike/chat below (listen for the tropical birds in the background). Thanks so much for taking the time to daydream with me Ayla! Also be sure to check out Ayla’s recent article about World Ocean’s day here.
Kristina Lerner, a student at the Institute for Holistic Nutrition, interviewed me for one of her class projects. She shares:
“I am filled with gratitude having encountered such an inspirational book during this stage of my life. It has given me the confidence to move forward with my own dreams. I love reading about your life experiences and the 10-15 min exercises are very helpful. Wildpreneurs offers a wealth of knowledge empowering its readers. This book also acts as a practical how-to guide for anyone who is eager to turn their wild passion into a successful business.”
My heart was filled by the following e-mail from Natalie Jackson at Southern Oregon University:
Your book was magic!! You provided stories, insights and question prompts to set my inner compass. I especially loved your short interviews with other self employed folks. BUT! Most of all, I could finally relate to an author who has a robust outdoor background, like I do, who combines wellness, self-employment & soul work.
It was divine timing to read your book when I did. I’m a couple months away from launching my virtual group coaching business where I help people unearth holistic wellness through nature. Thank you for sharing your passion, grit, guidance and energy! I’m pinching myself as I write to you!
