From Motorcycle Accident to the Mindful Habits Academy

From Motorcycle Accident to the Mindful Habits Academy

"I was in a motorcycle accident when I was 18 and my whole perspective on life changed. Life is too short to do things or be in a career that you don’t like. We are here to enjoy life! I started following things that lit me up. I went to school and became a certified welder. Later, I moved to North Carolina to be a whitewater rafting guide which led me to Costa Rica where I became a yoga instructor. In Costa Rica, I created my business and the Mindful Habits Academy." Tune into Amanda’s experience and wild wisdom here.

Instinctual Health with Natalie Jackson

Instinctual Health with Natalie Jackson

An e-mail popped up in my inbox about 6 months ago. It read: “My partner Lucas is a grad student at Southern Oregon University. I saw the cover of Wildpreneurs on your desk, quickly snagged it and didn’t give it back until I finished…Your book was magic!! You provided stories, insights and question prompts to set my inner compass. I especially loved your short interviews with other self employed folks. BUT! Most of all, I could finally relate to an author who has a robust outdoor background, like I do, who combines wellness, self-employment & soul work.” — Natalie Jackson. This thoughtful message meant so much to me. I’ve been in touch with Natalie ever since. It’s been awesome to watch her germinate, sprout and blossom as a Wildpreneur!

New Beginnings & Courage With Sanni McCandless

New Beginnings & Courage With Sanni McCandless

“We'll never suddenly be “ready” and move forward without making a single mistake. In fact, I think it can be dangerous to let “readiness” hold us back from trying out something new. I always like to say, you'll know 100x more than you do right now after you've gotten version one out the door.” — Sanni McCandless

I was intrigued by Sanni McCandless in the Oscar-Winning documentary Free Solo. In the film, Alex Honnold tackles Yosemite’s iconic El Captain…just him and the rock, no ropes or equipment. Though Alex is the star of the show, Sanni’s peaceful presence resonated with me deeply. I whole-heartedly admire (and aspire!) towards her courage and ability to stay calm and balanced through intensity, extreme challenge and fear. Sanni naturally embodies the wisdom that she shares in her interview below: “Acknowledge that fear and doubt exist and choose to move forward anyway.”
