Leisha Davis, Founder of Mindful Mama Living

You know those people who you feel naturally drawn to? Those free-spirits who radiate a high vibration that is beautifully magnetic. They make you think “I want what they’re having…”

Leisha Davis, founder of Mindful Mama Living, is one of those Wildpreneurs. As a new mom, Leisha’s wisdom resonates particularly deeply with me (jungle baby Zephyr is now 6 months!). With Mother’s Day approaching Leisha’s insights are a treat to mamas everywhere. However, her approach and insights around mindfulness are invaluable to all Wildpreneurs.

Tell us about your wild business! What was your inspiration to create Mindful Mama Living?

Mindful Mama Living was born after I had my second daughter and realized how passionate I was about supporting mamas on their wild, wonderful and challenging journey.  At the time I’d been teaching yoga for many years but was feeling overwhelmed and struggling to access my mindfulness tools. This catapulted me forward and created the ah-ha I needed to become a life coach and marry my love of yoga with coaching. The business I’ve created is exactly what I needed and what I believe so many mamas need. Our mission is to guide and inspire overwhelmed mamas everywhere to live and parent with presence, ease and joy by providing simple and satisfying mindfulness strategies.

What do you wish you’d known prior to getting started as a Wildpreneur?

We are the ones who hold ourselves back. Everything is figureoutable.

I wish Wildpreneurs had existed earlier. I’m so happy it is in the world now.  It is full of inspiration and tidbits that are helping me every single day, but wow, if I’d had this in my hands five years ago, that support would have been epic. Thanks for bringing this beautiful book into being, Tamara! It is a gift to everyone who picks it up.

Describe your perfect day as a Wildpreneur.

My perfect day would land me and my family in a beautiful place to explore, whether it be a new city or a spot in nature to camp. We’d take in the sites, eat healthy, delicious food, get out on bikes or skis or go for a hike, and have lots of fun. Also, I’d slip in a yoga class or a run by myself as I adore alone time!

What advice would you give to someone who is considering turning their passion into a business?

Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good. Go for it! You’ll make mistakes and learn from them and then you’ll improve. You are going to constantly grow and evolve along with your business. How exciting!

I wanted to bring my business to fruition quickly but it wasn’t in the cards, as my dream came into being after having two babies. And since my dream is built around motherhood and experience, it was a blessing that it took some time to launch. My journey has taught me that what’s meant for you always arrives right on time.
