Alisa's Fusion: Business Babes, Reiki & Photography

I discovered Rocky Mountain Wildpreneur Alisa Messeroff through her husband, Mike Messeroff, author of Dogs Get It. Though her photography is what initially caught my eye, Alisa’s wild inspiration goes way beyond the lens. Her wild businesses take a variety of different shapes. I’m particularly intrigued and excited by her latest project, Mindful Business Babes, which she is creating with her sister Lauren Fonvielle. Thanks for sharing your wildpreneur experience and inspiration Alisa (see below), we’ll be following you!

Describe your perfect day as a Wildpreneur.

My perfect day as Wildpreneur is such a tough question because I literally LOVE everything I do! I am a professional photographer, intuitive/reiki practitioner, and business coach. Having the freedom to work on what I want, being able to help others and change lives is part of my perfect day!

Tell us about your wild businesses! What was your inspiration to create your photography business, become a Reiki practitioner and a business/mindfulness coach.

Photography has always been a passion of mine! I specialize in families, couples, seniors and maternity. Being able to capture gorgeous moments in time is a blessing. I love the laughter, smiles and even tears in every session. It is such a magical feeling.

I became a reiki practitioner because as a young child I had experiences that were very different. As I became an adult I began to push away the fears and embrace this unknown world. Since then I have used these abilities to help many others change their lives and see the world in a new and beautiful way.

As for becoming a business coach, this is a pretty new venture but I have owned 5 businesses and sold 2. I have had ups and downs and I have loved the journey but it has been a rollercoaster. My sister and I decided to go into business together to help empower women who know they want something more, they know they want to work for themselves but they have no idea the steps to take. We want to be able to share our journey and have these women avoid all the mistakes that we have made. We want women to know that starting their own business is attainable and doesn’t have to be a dream. It can be a reality! Ultimately, we are here to help women turn their dreams into a wildly successful business.

What do you wish you’d known prior to getting started as a Wildpreneur?

Only start a business if you have the passion and desire for the business. The two businesses I have sold, I started them for the money, not for the passion. My advice to any entrepreneurs is to start a business because you love what you do, not for the money. If you love what you do the money will come.

What advice would you give to someone who is considering turning their passion into a business?

DO IT! Do not let fear hold you back, do not let the naysayers get in your head. If you have passion and motivation then you can absolutely kill it!

Do you have a favorite motivational quote?

I swear by the commencement speech by Charlie Day – here is a snippet of my favorite part.

Anything else you’d like to share about your journey?

Starting a business has its ups and downs, but that is all a part of the amazing ride. Never give up!
